I LIS Pan-African Congress: first opinions of the participants
The 1st Pan-African Congress of the LIS is in full swing in Nairobi, Kenya. With organizations and activists from more than 15 represented countries, debates and deliberations are carried out between the days 28 Y 31 of August. We share some first reflections from the participants in this important event.
its main proposals and how the LSR was formed we publish an interview with three of its leaders, Kenya Revolutionary Socialist League
Hola, my name is Ezra Otieno from the Revolutionary Socialist League. I am very excited about the First Pan African Congress on its first successful day. The main objective of this congress is to bring together revolutionary organizations from all over Africa under the banner of the International Socialist League.. We are very excited about this because we also want to build a revolutionary pan-Africanist organization. So we're looking for them, join in and watch what will happen. ¡Viva!
Imran Kamyana – The Struggle from Pakistan
My name is Imran Kamyana and I am from Pakistan. I am part of a revolutionary organization called The Struggle (Urdu: Class struggle) who is active in the leftist movement and also in the youth of the last forty years. We are trying to build a revolutionary party, not only in Pakistan, but throughout the continent, in South Asia and elsewhere, other countries. And now I am here in Kenya to attend the Pan African Socialist Congress, organized by the International Socialist League. I am very proud to be part of this important meeting. In my opinion, This is important for many reasons.. Africa is a continent very rich in resources and labor., but it is one of the poorest regions in the world, due to looting and exploitation. In this sense, It is the duty of Marxists around the world to help the Pan-African Revolutionary Organization on the continent so that capitalism and imperialism in Africa can be overcome.. Socialism and Marxism are nothing if they are not internationalist. In this sense, We are fighting to build a revolutionary international composed of revolutionary parties in all countries, on all continents and Africa is part of the fight against capitalism at the international level. So we hope for the best and hope that this congress becomes a wild storm in the fight against capitalism, in the fight against imperialism, and in the fight for the socialist future of humanity.
Grace Tanaka – Zimbabwe National Union of Students
My name is Tanaka K.. de Innovation Dub Zimbabwe. I represent the voice of ZINASU, What is the Zimbabwe National Students Union?. ZINASU is a united Zimbabwean students' union fighting for academic freedom for Zimbabwean students, especially those from universities. So we've noted before that we're not just students, we are citizens of zimbabwe, so we suffer the oppression of being citizens. So ZINASU is a socio-economic group that aims to promote democracy and make sure that everyone has the linked imaginary groups that they recognize in their heads and what they want to be heard. There is more about ZINASU, They take it to promote democracy and protect the rights of students.
This meeting was really eye-opening.. Capitalism harms humanity more than we thought. This leads to the exploitation of resources, to the food crisis and poverty, not only in Africa, but globally. People suffer from imperialism and the oppression of capitalists. So, as a result, we need to have a united front, as a socialist united front revolution, that can overcome the capitalist movement. Because it's a movement that's been hyped for quite some time., and that's why it's now causing more damage than it was supposed to because it was good.. That is why I believe that the proposal presented by the LIS of the united socialist revolutionary front is actually the best solution that can be used to overcome all these problems that we face through imperialism.. Because if we are going to act early, you will see that there are many countries that are beginning to emerge as imperialist. I think Africa is the one that will suffer the most. So I think we should act as soon as possible, we really have to defend ourselves. We have to do massive mobilization and promote the idea of socialist revolution.
