Middle East in flames, one more time…
By: Imran Kamyana
The conflict between Pakistan and India in southern Asia had not yet been fully calmed when, In the Middle East, War flames between Iran and Israel have exploded again. Fundamentally, This is a continuation of Israel's uncontrolled aggression in the region, during which Gaza has been ravaged and the genocide of Palestinians does not cease. In this context, The current tensions between Iran and Israel haveintermittently climbing Since last yearto become direct confrontations, including mutual attacks with missiles and unmanned planes.
But this time, The intensity of the conflict is much greater and its much more serious nature. The 13 June with a barrage of Israeli missiles about Iran, What was the greatest attack on Iranian soil since the war between Iran and Iraq. The attack is still ongoing and, According to Israeli officials, It could extend indefinitely. It should be noted that this attack occurred precisely at a time when nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States were underway. Trump had repeatedly suggested that he did not want a new war in the Middle East and that he preferred to resolve issues with Iran through dialogue. Nevertheless, After the Israeli attack, The continuation of these conversations has become practically impossible, as Netanyahu would have wanted.
But the problem now is not just the scale or intensity of the attack, but the nature of the damages inflicted to Iran. In the early stages of the assault, Not only most of the Iranian military commanders died, including the bosses of the Army and the Revolutionary Guard -together with key nuclear scientists -, They also suffered serious damage critical nuclear facilities and military infrastructure. It is a much greater humiliation for Iran than the murder in July of 2024 del líder de Hamás Ismail Haniyeh en Teherán a manos de Israel. It also indicates that the Mossad network within Iran is much more extensive and efficient than it was estimated above. In the meantime, against his external bravery and bold rhetoric, The Iranian state seems internally hollow and fragile, With its counterintelligence system repeatedly demonstrating its inefficiency.
This vulnerability is derived not only from sanctions, Imperialist pressures and sabotages, but also of decades of internal repression, generalized corruption in the clerical elite and deep internal contradictions. (In fact, It is even questionable the reliability of the substitutes for the murdered military controls). Fundamentally, It is an ideological crisis of the Iranian state, that now manifests itself in political and military terms. In such circumstances, The possibility that the Iranian State collapses under the weight of intense aggression and external pressure cannot be ruled out.
Nevertheless, Israel's own situation is far from stable. A prolonged war or a state of conflict -which depends largely on Iran's resistance capacity- It could trigger important disturbances within Israel himself. Netanyahu and his clique could face a possible popular uprising, and even the imperialist powers, fed up with the relentless adventurer of this band, They could be pushed to take drastic measures.
After the Israeli attack, It would take almost 18 hours to recover composure, consolidate their military capabilities and define an answer, Although the Israeli assault had been largely anticipated. Nevertheless, Iran had no choice but to retaliate against Israel. This counterattack -o counterattack series- I was ongoing at the time of writing these lines, with statements that military bases and Israeli airfields have been damaged. Despite the modern and effective anti -aircraft defense systems of Israel, Several missiles have fallen into the capital, Tel Aviv, apparently causing dozens of injured and multiple fatalities.
Although Iran's last attack may not match that of Israel in terms of efficacy and destruction, It is still extraordinary and unprecedented. further, Iran has threatened to attack US bases and other western countries in case they intervene directly. So, The situation remains fluid and evolves quickly, With the potential to become a large -scale catastrophe.
These fears are already being reflected in the rise in oil prices in world markets and in the collapse of the bags. It is evident that if the war extends or extends even more, The world economy, already in itself in crisis, I could suck in a deep recession. From the main powers they do not cease to arrive convictions and calls. Nevertheless, The so -called "International Community" -including the United Nations, China and Russia- this, in practice, playing the role of impotent spectator or, especially in the case of the main Western powers, actively participating in the apology and facilitation of Israel's actions.
Behind the unbridled aggression of Netanyahu several motor forces are hidden: His desperate attempts at political survival, The internal crisis of Zionism and the rapid deterioration of the global image of Israel. But just as important is the historical crisis of American imperialism and its increasingly weak control over its own puppets. This is revealed once again in the vague -and sometimes contradictory- statements made by US officials after the Israeli attack. This confusion is not simply a matter of American hypocrisy; reflects a deeper fragmentation and internal confusion within the US state itself, A disorder that has only intensified under Trump's second mandate.
For several years, The situation has reached a point where, At each crucial situation, The United States is forced to follow Israel's initiative and justify its actions, Even when you are reluctant to do it. Trump is, in the background, A narcissistic individual, rude, volatile, imprudent and unreliable that it changes posture every few hours. He likes to blush, But when facing a stronger opposition or serious threats, It goes back quickly. In such conditions, It is not difficult to imagine to what extent they even trust him even his allies and subordinates.
But today the reins of the most powerful economic and military empire in the history of humanity are in the hands of such a person, It is not just an individual failure, but of a reflection of the deep crisis of the entire existing imperialist system. The story is full of examples in which systems in decay brought to power incompetent figures or clowns, that later they did nothing but accelerate the collapse of the system themselves that ruled.
The current Middle East devastation has a historical background rooted in centuries of colonial looting, region's parcel and division in artificial states, headed mainly by British and French imperialism. The creation of Israel in 1949 As an enclave of Western imperialism was a continuation of this legacy of domination and exploitation. The antinatural Zionist state has been raised as brutal and ruthless executor to maintain foreign imperialist control over this region rich in oil. While it exists, The region cannot expect stability or prosperity.
Nevertheless, Iran's theocratic state, born of a bloody counterrevolution in 1979, Nor does it have progressive credentials. Granting political legitimacy or support under the pretext of being "anti -imperialist" is a flagrant ideological crime. The hands of this sectarian religious regime are also stained with the blood of innumerable innocent -within and out of Iran-, among them tens of thousands of communists, workers and women. Only in the last and a half decade, Iran has witnessed at least ten major protest movements, All of them brutally crushed. Nevertheless, The right to determine Iran's future belongs exclusively to his people, And only he -through class unity and revolutionary action- You can face this oppressive theocratic state, overthrow and replace it with something better.
A Fundamentalist Hub State, grafted, illegitimate and imperialist as Israel can never be a liberator of the Iranian people, neither has any right to intervene or launch "preventive attacks" against any country in the region. Strategically, All struggling blow to Israel is welcome. Nevertheless, The current situation also makes it clear that Israel cannot be defeated by religious or capitalist-economic reasons. Nor is it a mere military issue. This cancer -whose roots are also in the depths of the reactionaries and servile Arab regimes- requires revolutionary surgery to be eradicated.
It is clear that this historical task is linked to the dismantling of imperialist capitalism throughout the region, included Iran, A task that only the working masses of the Middle East can meet.
