15 October: Great day of struggle for Palestine
In the main cities of the Spanish State, Tens of thousands of people took to the streets to demand an end to the genocide in Gaza. The day of strike and protests against the genocide in Palestine was called by a wide range of unions, student movements, Social Organizations, groups for Palestine, political parties and a wave of independent activists.
The slogans demanded a diplomatic break with Israel, the cessation of bombing, the sending of humanitarian aid and an international campaign for the freedom of Palestine.
The protagonists of the day were large organized blocks and, mainly, workers, migrants and a whole youth that is increasingly active in the State and around the world.

In Barcelona, the call was massive: there were acts, simultaneous marches and blockades of avenues, partial strikes and blockades of activity carried out by different sectors of workers. Finally, There was a unitary march from Sants station to the Israeli consulate.
There was also great mobilization in Madrid: from Atocha to Callao, Thousands of people marched with slogans such as “Stop genocide!”. In Valencia, The CGT and the Student Union converged in unified concentrations in front of the consulate in Alicante and events in the city.
In Manresa (Catalonia) and in Valencia, There were also attempts to boycott the presentation of an Israeli basketball team that led to police repression.. In Palma, Valladolid, Burgos and other cities in the State also raised their voices against the massacre in Gaza.
They defend genocidaires, they repress solidarity
Once again, the police forces of the national and autonomous governments stood out for their shameful repressive action and the majority of the media for criminalizing the protesters., without mentioning the colonial and genocidal background of the conflict in Gaza.
In Barcelona the Mobile Brigade (joke) and the Mossos d'Esquadra dedicated themselves to protecting the Consulate, repress actions and arrest supportive people. Similar attitudes were repeated in all cities of the State, making it clear again that, beyond the hypocrisy of governments, mainly the national one of Pedro Sánchez, but also of the presidents of the autonomies, They remain strategic partners of Israel and defend their interests with institutional violence.

We call to continue with the mobilizations, locks, strikes and actions against genocide, ethnic cleansing and the occupation of Palestine. Everything on the path to defeating the State of Israel and establishing a single Palestine, secular, democratic and socialist, with the socialist revolution of the workers and people against the traitorous Arab governments and leaderships that abound in the Middle East.
