Brazil: The capitalist "development" destroys and burns the Amazon

The images, news and information we receive from Brazil are desolating, thousands of hectares catching fire.
Product scheduled burnings who left control, since the assumption of Bolsonaro rapidly loses huge forest and forest land in the hands of the capitalist "development". Only last month were cleared more than 2.200 square kilometers of forest, a rate one 280% higher than in July last year. (BBC, 20/08/2019)

The far-right President Jair Bolsonaro assumes a predator speech and natural resources for the advancement of deforestation to convert the vast Amazonian lands cultivated land and pasture animals. So since assuming there is a kind of license to deforest expressed in the drastic reduction of state resources for monitoring and forest care (the annual budget of Ibama, the main federal environmental agency, It fell by US $ 23.57 million this year, a quarter of the total - BBC, 29/07/2019), transfer to the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply of the most important functions of the Ministry of the Environment, the transfer of responsibility for the demarcation of indigenous lands of the National Indian Foundation at the hands of the same Ministry, while making statements in favor of more flexible legislation to give free rein to predation.

Gold stained with blood and barbarity

In a few months the Amazon has suffered more devastation than ever. According to various reports of indigenous communities in the region, environmental organizations and even the state officials (who make anonymous complaints), the advance of illegal mining in the first half of this year is huge. Mining projects are installed, with varying degrees of technological advancement, to plunder natural resources and commons destroying and contaminating everything in its path. Leave "scars" in the jungle, rivers with mercury that contaminates water and fish consuming local communities, raising pollution levels and death of the population.

It is almost impossible to calculate in advance this voracious numbers since it is largely illegally, but the satellite photos and reports of its inhabitants realize a catastrophe of unseen proportions. Only in the Yanomami territory would 10.000 Laborers working as denounced by the community place.
Our lives are worth more than their profits

In the Amazon rainforest live a million people of indigenous communities and is also home to the richest biodiversity on the planet, where it dwells perhaps one-tenth of all species of plants and animals. It is called "the lungs of the planet" by the immense capacity to absorb carbon dioxide has, if it is not done, stays in the atmosphere adding to global warming rising. But none of this matters to rulers as Bolsonaro entrepreneurs or corporations for whom the rules ecocidal.

The capitalist system, in its stage of ecological and social devastation forgives nothing, Amazon even today in flames. The accumulation of profits for 1% richest of our planet threatens the existence of humanity and not just environmental campaigns depositing individual responsibility that each binds nosotres facing daily acts of care and respect for the environment. The Amazon jungle and the whole world is in danger because we live in a system that feeds barbarism to the great majority.

Without socialism, there is no solution

Because what is burning the Amazon is a productive matrix which is based on the extraction of natural resources and common goods to increase corporate profits and produce at lower costs, regardless of the ecological consequences that this entails. This is an urgent debate we must do, even with sectors of progressivism and left. Those highly polluting and Castle predatory productive branches, on behalf of the defense of jobs and wealth for poor countries, make a mistake. It is necessary to reorganize the economy and investment priorities. Without the thirst for capitalist profit it is possible to produce and distribute resources maintaining jobs, even increasing them.

Given the current catastrophe Amazon say:

Prohibit the cutting and burning of trees and native forest.
Prohibit mining pollution gold and other metals.
Recover and increase the budget for areas that control and care for afforestation.
Declare an environmental emergency devoting all necessary resources to attack the catastrophe.
Remediation plan by corporations that generated this debacle to pay the costs of the devastation.
Prohibit extractive productive developments in the areas affected by fires.
On the way to advance anti-capitalist measures that temporarily put the management of common property in the hands of state-controlled indigenous communities and their workers. agrarian reform to distribute land and in the hands of those who produce.
We must implement a production model with the least possible environmental impact and service to meet the needs of 99% of the population who only suffer the consequences of their business. Is a lie that predation and socio-environmental destruction is inevitable consequence in any production model, it is in the capitalist where a handful of bourgeois rises with the wealth of humanity causing pollution and death. So we have to plan production shaft on social needs and not market, sin victimize, with democratic participation and perspective ecosocialista.
The social and environmental law is nothing more than the right to life, so we are eco-socialists, we organize and fight every day.
