International solidarity actions against repression in Belarus

Lukashenko, the long-time dictator of Belarus 26 years, has launched a real hunt for political opponents. Confident in the actions of the enormous repressive apparatus with which it has controlled the country for years, Lukashenko launched an electoral call in the midst of the pandemic, seeking to demonstrate a certain “normality” and confirming their denialist and irresponsible attitude towards the COVID-19 crisis.

The shot backfired and tens of thousands have turned to sign petitions to be candidates in the elections or to support one of them.. Many of them independent, tired of the impunity of the regime, which has added to the repressive atmosphere numerous economic problems that are increasingly affecting the Belarusian workers and people.

Mass arrests, smear campaigns and all kinds of repressive maneuvers make up the dictator's response to this mass expression against his regime. As usual, Its main target is the workers and the popular sectors, although he is also undermining the bourgeois opponents who seek to challenge him for power.

Faced with this situation, From the International Socialist League we have been carrying out various actions to repudiate the repression, demanding the release of all political prisoners and of course supporting the need to end Lukashenko's regime of terror. We share here some images of the first actions carried out in Barcelona and Buenos Aires.
