Brazil: The Radical Left Movement is born

Last Saturday 15/05, different currents of the radical left of PSOL held a seminar for debate and political elaboration. The objective was to strengthen an anti-capitalist left pole. The result was a successful event and the beginning of an important tool for the radical left militancy inside and outside the PSOL.: the Radical Left Movement.
The Radical Left Movement, was born with the aim of organizing all those currents and militancy of the anti-capitalist left that are part of the PSOL, to form a pole of unity and common action with a higher degree of organicity. Most of the currents that today decide to advance in building the Movement, we come from forming the Radical Left Bloc. We understood that a conjunctural and specific unit to act in Congress or in the face of a specific event, It is insufficient, so we decided to take an organic step and build a tool with common organisms, a national coordination with representation of all currents and thus in all states.
The currents that start the Movement are: Socialist alternative (AS), Socialist Action Group (GAS), Freedom and People's Revolution (LRP), Socialist struggle (LS), Revolutionary Principles of Socialist Ideology (AWARD), PSOL For the Base and Socialism or Barbarism (SoB).
We are currents that come from different routes and we have differences. The Radical Left Movement will be the confluence of a political diversity. That is why the currents that we will build it do not lose our independence and identity. The differences will be channeled by the coordinators and nuclei with the aim of building our political action together., whenever possible. When there is no agreement, divergent positions will continue to be expressed by currents with total freedom.
In highlight is the position of the CST (ITU-CI), current that makes up the Radical Left Bloc, but that is not part of the construction of the Radical Left Movement. Differences with colleagues have been expressing themselves from before. For example, in previous debates and during municipal elections, or right now in the pre-congress of the PSOL where they decided to do a thesis alone, outside the Radical Left Bloc.
The Radical Left Movement and the PSOL
The process of assimilation to petismo and the project of class conciliation of the majority leadership, has been causing disappointment in many colleagues. Boulos, Freixo and the current majority leadership openly campaign for their popular front policy. They meet with Lula and with right-wing parties hoisting the Broad Front line against "fascism".
Against these comes the Manifesto Glauber Braga pre-candidate for president signed by a broad unit of currents, independent referents and militancy of PSOL. The Manifesto reflects the opposition of a large part of the militancy to the liquidationism of those who surrender to the project of class conciliation, and that is synthesized in the debate of presenting a party's own candidacy for next year's presidential elections. Independent candidacy, with a program of the left and based on the struggles, are the axes and the objective of the manifesto that has the figure of the current national deputy Glauber Braga as the main reference, and that we from the Socialist Alternative signed with the other currents that we built the Radical Left Movement together with the MES, Strengthen, common, CST, among other.
The radical left composes and promotes this Manifesto, because it means an important framework of broad and diverse unity within the PSOL to face the policy of assimilation to the PT by the leadership. But we also see that political and programmatic limitations arise with currents that are oscillating and often centrist., that give air to the address. We understand that these are not times of hesitation, these are times of open dispute against the sector that wants to destroy the foundational project of PSOL. Only in this way will we have the opportunity to avoid a new disappointment and disappointment for large sectors such as the PT and Lula..
The currents that defend the independent and socialist program have the challenge of organizing the radical left in a movement that is superior to a conjunctural alliance tactic.. Strengthen organic ties to stick together with the same fist. The Radical Left Movement begins a path, it is postulated as a tool for all those who know that capitalism is a decadent system with no future. For each and everyone who militates for the only real way out, socialism, here they have a treat to join.

THE FIRST STEP WAS TAKEN

He 15 In May, the National Seminar took place that formalized the creation of the RADICAL LEFT MOVEMENT. Convened by the Alternative Socialist organizations (AS), Socialist Action Group (GAS), Freedom and People's Revolution (LRP), Socialist struggle (LS), Revolutionary Principles of Socialist Ideology (AWARD), PSOL For the Base and Socialism or Barbarism (SoB). The companions of the organization Socialismo ou Barbárie (SoB) and the International Socialist League (LIS) sent international greetings to the seminar.
The seminar was inaugurated paying tribute to the more than 420.000 murdered people, victims of the covid-19 pandemic and the capitalist system; mostly, working men and women, poor and the peripheries. We also dedicate the event to the resistance of the Palestinian people against Israel's attacks, to the rebellious Colombian people who fight against the fiscal adjustment of President Iván Duque, and the resistance of the people of the community of Jacarezinho (RJ) and of all the people who live in the communities, shanty towns, occupations and slums across the country, facing all forms of violence.
Several organizations and groups of the PSOL were invited to the event: the Collective Hope, of which the state deputy is part (SP) Carlos Giannazi and the councilor (SP) Celso Giannazi; New Praxis, advances, Proposal, Transition, Politicizing the PSOL and the Centrality of Work. We have the greetings of Maria Lúcia Farorelli, of the Citizen Hearing on Public Debt (ACD), from partner Paulo Pedrini, of the historic and fighter Pastoral Obrera Metropolitana de São Paulo (PO), of the teacher Marinalva Oliveira (former president of Andes-SN), of Professor Plinio de Arruda Sampaio Junior and of the federal deputy and pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic by the PSOL, Glauber Braga.
In the morning the current situation was discussed, based on the contributions presented by the convening organizations. In the afternoon, the current situation of the PSOL was discussed, as well as the need to organize the fight against the project of re-founding the party, that is being defended and implemented, without any discussion on the base, by majority management (PSOL Block of All Fights). They want to end the radicalism with which PSOL was founded and, especially, commit the party to support the class conciliation project defended by Lula / PT for the elections of 2022.
In addition to supporting the candidacy of Glauber Braga, among other, the following resolutions were approved organization of the struggle for FORA BOLSONARO / MOURÃO now in 2021, the requirement of vaccination for all, the fight for the basic income of 1 minimum salary, creation of a broad front of employment emergency and fight against poverty, immediate suspension of the payment of the public debt and performance of the public debt audit, with citizen participation, since the Military Dictatorship, end of adjustment and layoffs, fight against unemployment and dismantling of state public services; cancellation of all reforms that remove rights (THIS 95, pension and labor reform), uncompromising guarantee of women's rights, of the elderly, of the blacks, of the indigenous, of the quilombolas, of the riparians, of the peasants and the LGBTQIA + population, against the PEC 32 (administrative counter-reform).
The political resolution and the resolution on the organization and operation of the RADICAL LEFT MOVEMENT were unanimously approved by those present.
Now the great task is to organize the radical left movement in all the states of the country, actively participate in the struggles and mobilizations against the government and the capitalist system and organize participation in the next PSOL congress.
