Successful International Meeting of Socialist Women

increases, increases.

By Ruben Tzanoff

The invasion of the Russian troops into Ukraine began on 24 February. It has already caused many deaths and around a million displaced people.. The entire territory is a front of resistance to the Russian imperialist invasion, with enlistments to fight in the front and the preparation of guerrillas. Many people spend the nights in subway stations and protect themselves and organize themselves in bomb shelters.. International solidarity with the attacked people grows and spreads throughout the world.

Since before the escalation of the war, the International Socialist League (LIS) has expressed hispolitical guidelines instatementsreports and notes. Y, since the aggression commanded by Putin began, the sections of our international have intensified thecampaign to support the Ukrainian people, participating and promoting solidarity actions. A part of the activity is constituted by the difficult daily communication with ourcomrades of the Ukrainian Socialist League (LSU) which we reflect below in some of its aspects.

Wednesday 23/2

[19:38]: For work I am in rural Nikolaev. I started writing after work. I will send the writing at night. The start of the attack is inevitable and imminent.

Thursday 24/2

[6:44]: The Russian attack has begun.

[10:53]: The army is resisting. The Russians managed to break through in the area ofJarkov. There are fights to 5 kilometers from Kharkov. Now I'm trying to reassure my family and friends. at LSU!, all the coworkers are fine!

[12:25]: the situation is very bad.

[12:26]: There is fighting in the town of Gostomel, a 40 kilometers from kyiv.

[13:00]: Now we are talking about the fact that a general mobilization will be announced in Ukraine.

[14:44]: I live near the airport in kyiv. the situation is tense, fighter planes fly all the time. There was an interception of a Russian missile over the airport. internet is still there.

[14:45]: I will probably go to the bomb shelter with my family at night. There are often mermaids in kyiv.

[14:46]: The Russians broke through the front from the north, through the Sumi region. Columns of fences go to Kiev. Looks like they need a blitzkrieg.

[19:56]: everything is good so far. I'm spending the night with my family in a bomb shelter.

[21:16]: For the first time in my life I spend the night with my family in a bomb shelter. We live near kyiv airport «Zhulyany», and there, at night, a Russian landing and heavy fighting is possible.

[21:20]: Today, Russian troops failed to suppress the resistance of the Ukrainian army during the first day of the war. We managed to keep Kharkov. Now there are strong battles in the south of Ukraine, near Kherson. Russian troops occupied the territory of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Its workers were taken hostage. kyiv is still Ukrainian. Lyosha saw Ukrainian tanks camouflage themselves near the kyiv city limit to repel aggression. LSU classmates are united like never before.

Friday 25/2

[7:18]: Video Translation: "Friends. Oleg Vernik is in touch. kyiv city. Have 50 years and for the first time in my life I spent the night in a bomb shelter. kyiv is now in a very difficult situation. We have just heard that tank columns are moving towards kyiv. people are very scared. In the morning there were rocket attacks against various objects in kyiv. The city subway is full of people. Many people use the subway as a bomb shelter. “Because most of the bomb shelters in kyiv are not prepared enough and people use the metro as a more reliable option to save their lives.. I want to convey my proletarian greeting to all the comrades of the International Socialist League and express my deep gratitude for being with us.. for helping us. For showing proletarian solidarity with the struggling Ukraine. Thank you so much. we are holding! It is very difficult for us, but Ukraine holds on. The Russian imperialist aggression was carried out yesterday. Significant parts of the Russian army attacked Ukraine. The Ukrainian army is much smaller in composition and less prepared. We are not an imperialist state. But yesterday, our boys showed miracles of heroism. and hold on! Today attacks will be launched against kyiv and I really hope that we will not have any losses among the civilian population of Ukraine and I really hope that this war will end soon. long live ukraine! Long live International Proletarian Solidarity!! thank you comrades we are holding!”

[19:26]: Today we will also spend the night in a bomb shelter, as a missile attack is expected in kyiv.

[19:28]: This is a good sign, which shows that Putin did not succeed in the blitzkrieg.

[19:55]: The family is good. We're back in the bomb shelter. Unfortunately, I have no connection with our friend Sergei from the city of Mvriupol. And now there are very terrible battles in the city.

Preparation of Molotov cocktails in Dnipro.

Saturday 26/2

[19:49]: In relation to NATO our position is public and known. It is necessary that the LSU places political and programmatic accents correctly, depending on the situation. At the same time, it would be correct for the LIS to keep criticism of NATO in its documents, to identify the right strategic prospects for our international. Although, at the moment this criticism is not fully perceived correctly in the mass consciousness of the Ukrainian workers.

[20:01]: I'm afraid for Sergei. I'm trying to contact him, but so far i can't. Your phone is off.

[20:04]: Now all the regional cities are being attacked by the Russian army. But in Mariupol, the situation is more difficult, since it is located in the Ukrainian part of the Donetsk region.

[20:10]: We thought Putin would fight for Donbass. And attacked all of Ukraine.

Sunday 27/2

[18:55]: There was no missile attack today in kyiv. Maybe peace negotiations have started. We await news.

[19:07]: From now on it is forbidden to record videos and take photos in our bomb shelter. there are already more than 300 people here. I was elected to be in charge of keeping order. Morning in kyiv, the curfew should be partially lifted for a few hours. That is to say, people will be able to go out.

[22:22]: ¡Misha, Buenos Aires translator, he wrote me a very nice and warm letter! Thanks to him for his support.!

Monday 28/2

[14:10] We were able to get out of the bomb shelter for a few hours today. I will write you in more detail. lots of things to do.

[22:50]: So far we are calm, but we are afraid of the bombings. Zhuliany Airport is just a few meters from our bomb shelter, which can be attacked or used for Russian landings.

[22:55]: I think they are doing everything right. Many thanks to the entire LIS for supporting Ukraine in this difficult time.

[23:02]: Long live international proletarian solidarity!!! Long live the LIS!!!!

mars 1/3

[11:20]: While, our kyiv area, everything's fine. I will write later.

[21:54]: Heavy shelling began. Near our bomb shelter, the rockets are already falling very close. Unfortunately, I don't have a computer here and it will take me a while to answer from the phone. I will start answering tomorrow, if the night passes without there being casualties.

[23:38]: My bomb shelter is very close to the airport. Rocket attacks are very close and very strong, but still no attacks in residential areas. Our shelter is in the basement of a school, in a residential area. People are very scared by the bombings. no one sleeps between us.

Wednesday 2/3

[14:17]: I'm very tired. The night is over and it's good. In the morning, the men from the bomb shelter and I organized a patrol around the shelter, we unloaded food and toilet paper that volunteers brought us. There is not a single moment of calm.

[14:21]: I think it will be possible for me to participate in the audio chat proposed for Wednesday 9 of March. We currently do not allow video chats. Long live international proletarian solidarity!!!! Long live the LIS!!!!

[19:56]: LSU colleagues want to participate in the Meeting of Socialist Women on Saturday 5 of March, both from kyiv and from Ivano-Frankivsk, west of Ukraine.

Thursday 3/3

[12:52]: The night passed quietly. But around 12:30 loud explosions began to be heard. It was the bombing of the town of Gatne, which is very close to kyiv. further, there are no military units there. Why are they beating the villages?

[13:01]: This is scary. In my opinion, Putin, when he realized that blitzkrieg didn't work, he went completely crazy. What the Russian army is doing now does not fit in the head of a normal person.

[17:45]: A journalist from London called me. Asked about the work of our bomb shelter.

Friday 4/3

[10:38]: The night was very rough. There are battles near kyiv itself in the Bucha and Gostomel area. In the morning there were two large explosions in the kyiv – Borshchagovka area. we have until 300 people in the bomb shelter at night. mostly women and children. Many try to leave for western Ukraine, but now it is difficult because the roads are being bombed.https://www.youtube.com/embed/hUBQ0z7osdA?feature=oembed

[14:38]: The bombardment is already close to our refuge.

[14:39]: Today is a very hard day. Fighting is already taking place at the gates of kyiv, direction of Chernihiv and Zhytomyr, at the northwest entrance of the city.https://www.youtube.com/embed/mjskUo0p_Eo?feature=oembed

[15:01]: These are real fascists who are shelling a high-rise residential building.

[15:03]: This is a suburb of kyiv called Irpen, a 12 km from the center of the capital.

[15:12]: I heard that the Russians bombed and occupiedZaporizhia, the largest nuclear power plant in Europe.

Let's continue promoting the mobilizations and actions in support of the Ukrainian people who resist the invasion.
