Declaration on Ukraine

The Russian invasion of Ukraine demonstrates the true barbarity of the capitalist-imperialist world order and underlines the urgency of fighting for a socialist alternative that defends the interests of workers and the oppressed..

1. Oppose the Russian imperialist invasion of Ukraine and demand the withdrawal of all Russian troops.

Militant socialists and workers are faced with the joint task of defending the national and democratic rights of the Ukrainian people and opposing rising imperialist tensions and the threat of a broader war.. Specifically that means:

2. Oppose the advance of the NATO military alliance in Eastern Europe and the massive weapons buildup underway in all capitalist powers.

3. Support the Ukrainian popular resistance and their right to defend themselves from brutal Russian aggression with all means at their disposal.. Solidarity with the anti-capitalist forces that in Ukraine face the invasion from a position independent of the conservative and anti-worker government of Zelensky.

4. Show solidarity with the heroic anti-war forces in Russia. Reject that fair criticism of imperialist aggression turns into anti-Russian nationalist sentiments and economic sanctions that harm working people.

5. Promote global anti-war mobilization and solidarity between the Russian and Ukrainian working class and internationally.

6. Reject lying campaigns that present the conflict as the dispute between “democracy and authoritarianism” or between “progressivism and Nazism”. And the calls for “national unity” under the leadership of any of the competing imperialisms in Ukraine.

7. Support the cancellation of Ukraine's external debt $ 113 billion.

8. Defend the rights of Ukrainian refugees and all those fleeing war, poverty and racist attacks.
