Monika Tena, head of the CUP-LH list: worker, feminist and neighborhood fighter
At the end of the act of presentation of the candidacy of the CUP We spoke with Mónika Tena who took on the challenge of running for mayor of L'Hospitalet de Llobregat.
Why is a working woman and neighborhood fighter at the top of the CUP-LH list??
I consider myself a woman like many of our neighbors, hardworking and lives an obstacle course every day in this system. Faced with the injustices that affect us in the neighborhood, we have organized ourselves and have taken to the streets; mobilizing according to the needs of the neighbors.
In recent years we have fought for NO TO THE CLOSING of the PRIMARY CARE CENTER (CAP) and for the PEDIATRIC services. As a fight directed towards the youth of the neighborhoods, We look for them to have a rewarding space, where to feel comfortable through the practice of sport. As well as helping families that in some issues needed support in different areas.
The institutions always talk about all the tools that they make available to the neighbors against the different types of violence, but nothing is true or accessible to all.
As head of the CUP list, hardworking and fighter woman one of my efforts will be, especially, end the precariousness of social services in our city. And in all LH institutions that are not reaching, they can't give service, attention and follow-up to the needs of our neighbors. It is important that the tools that we have have all the resources and can provide the best service..
What can you tell us about the other candidacies that are presented??
The real alternative to the city council is the CUP. The other options are the same as we have the last decades. They are more of the same". At the CUP we have strength and support at the national level to meet the needs of the City.
do you want to add something?
more to add, is to ask the neighbors of LH to reflect on the City model that we currently have and think about a change. To PLANT FACE in the institutions, the only real alternative is us.
