Nicaragua: Manifesto for our freedom

Make 5 years that we lived in Nicaragua, again, a dictatorship. The State has deployed an entire systematic plan of repression to intimidate all the people; students and workers. The popular majorities that, in its diversity, We took to the streets mobilized by indignation and that we were participants in a true rebellion.

While, the first weeks of April 2018 The temperature of youth sectors was rising in the heat of the serious fire in the Indian Corn Biosphere Reserve; when adding the reform to the INSS pension system and the violent response of the Sandinista youth, to the worthy demand of the people, we experience a conscious transformation, from social fatigue to collective rage.

The unity of the people taking to the streets and universities, in protest for the abuses experienced for years and the cruel repression causing the first murders, He quickly went on to demand the resignation of the government and question all state institutions., being the clearest expression of popular sentiment against those who make us precarious, They impoverish and frustrate our dreams.

Because we understood that there was a very close complicity, the same one that originated, as a result of the pacts and conciliations that were built for years between the sectors of national and imperialist economic and political power. And it remains this way thanks to the economic interests that still unite them..

So, the Ortega-Murillo dictatorship, as well as that of the Somozas, It is a regime designed to defend the privileges of an enriched sector, with all those political maneuvers developed within the framework of institutionality, that were adopted at convenience, to achieve the greatest exploitation of the labor of the workers, from the countryside and the city. With laws that do not defend us, with miserable salaries and labor regimes that threaten our health and human dignity. To which is also added the displacement of indigenous and peasant communities to advance on the territories for the benefit of extractivism and mega projects., usurping the Nicaraguan people of their most basic rights to life.

The defense of the land, water and sovereignty, along with the fight for health, education, decent housing and work; They are our just causes. Causes of the entire town over decades, defended against the attacks carried out by the different governments, and that we are convinced that only with that unity that starts from below, among those of us who see and feel oppressed, can be carried forward and build the country we need.

The crisis in Nicaragua, from 2018, It is one more chapter of that fight. A fight of interests in which they collide, the working people and the capitalist political-economic power that exploits us. The latter with the service of a State as their instrument that, again, has not spared in repressing, chase, imprison, banish and murder those of us who fight against him.

we have suffered, almost forever, exile and forced migration, the hatred of a minority that holds a monopoly on repression and labor exploitation. We are tired of not being able to claim our rights as workers and not being able to live in freedom, we want to recover what is ours. We want to achieve our emancipation and no longer be exploited or oppressed.. We want to erase inequality and injustice, building organization to achieve it.

We promote the broadest unity in defense of democratic rights, for the life and freedom of political prisoners, against the dictatorship. At the same time, we consider it important to analyze our political history and reflect on the country we need to get out of the economic crisis., social and political that we live. Because we believe that it is the responsibility of all Nicaraguan working people to assume this task.; in defense of our labor rights, civil and political, even our own life and freedom.

Because we are the majority, because we are Nicaraguans from the poor people who know about struggles and dignity. We feel anger for all these injustices, rage that drives us to resist adversities 5 years of the April rebellion, rage to organize and recover our country. Rage against the governments that oppress and exploit us in exile, taking advantage of our status as migrants. We stand in solidarity with the struggles of the working class, the youth and popular sectors in the world that, in defense of their just causes, face everything.

This capitalism in planetary crisis leaves us at the bottom no way out at any level.. Because, We choose to fight to overthrow the dictatorship and build a new Nicaragua that reorganizes the economy without large businesses., landowners, nor repressors with a real full democracy of the workers, from the countryside and the city; with the youth, women, dissidents and indigenous peoples. And without any imperialist interference!  We are socialists and internationalists who fight for that perspective. We do not lower our arms. We continue standing. Let's go to the end.
