Palestine resists Israel's offensive
He 14 April was the last Friday of the Muslim holiday of the month of Ramadan. Beyond its religious nature, this date is also Al-Quds Day., the Arabic name for the city of Jerusalem, capital of Palestine and whose eastern sector is one of the preferred targets of the Zionist offensive of the oppressive State of Israel.
Pablo Vasco
Al Quds Day was established in August 1979 by the government of Ayatollah Khomeini, in full revolution against the shah of Iran, as a date of solidarity with the Palestinian people and against Zionism. Since then, In many Arab and Western countries, events are held in this regard..
It is worth remembering that while the United Nations recognizes the status of capital of Palestine for the East or East Jerusalem sector, the State of Israel considers the entire city its own capital. In July 1980 the Israeli Parliament approved the so-called Jerusalem Law, declaring it his capital "whole and united".
This unilateral decision motivated the following month the Resolution 478 of the UN Security Council, which condemns Israel's decision as being“a violation of international law” Y"a serious obstacle to the achievement of complete peace, just and lasting". Then there were six other similar Council resolutions since Israel never backed down and in 2018 ratified his absolute control over Jerusalem through another of his callsbasic laws, that in fact have constitutional rank.
In the current Al-Quds there were demonstrations and actions in several cities of Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen and other Arab countries; in canada, the United States and some European countries, and of course in Gaza, West Bank and other Palestinian refugee camps.
A different commemoration
The geopolitical framework of this Al Quds shows marked differences with respect to previous years. Not only because of the global weakening suffered by Israel's main imperialist ally, the United States, but because of the deep political crisis that for months has been shaking the Zionist regime itself.
Since the far-right coalition led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took office at the end of last year in Israel, and in the midst of an economic crisis that continues, his violent anti-Palestinian offensive and his project to subordinate the Supreme Court to the Israeli government have generated both an unprecedented resistance in Israeli sectors and a strengthening of the Palestinian Intifada.
Netanyahu's judicial reform bill, agreed between his Zionist Likud party and his associates from the far-right religious parties, that seeks to reduce certain margins of independence of the Court, sparked massive protest marches in Tel Aviv and other Israeli cities. to stop them, the government suspended for now its controversial reform.
But in exchange for his ultra-Zionist partners, he began the creation of a new armed "national guard"., with civil participation of racist anti-Palestinian settlers, under the command of the Minister of National Security: the fascist Itamar Ben Gvir."This minister heads the most right-wing party in the current government and in the past has been accused of more than 50 times and sentenced eight times for riots, vandalism, incitement to racism and support for a terrorist organization”[1].
So provocative is this new openly anti-Palestinian militia, whose initial budget would come from cutting health funds, education and other public services, that even unleashed criticism from the State Attorney General, the head of the Police and the Israeli secret intelligence services...
At the same time, the violent attacks by the Zionist police and military forces against the Palestinian population - which have already caused almost a hundred murders so far this year- they are strengthening the most radical sectors of that people in the face of the passivity of the Palestinian Authority, collaborationist with Israel. The Zionist offensive included the police raid on the holy mosque of Al Aqsa, which caused harsh public criticism from referents not only Muslims, but also Christians and Orthodox Jews.
With Palestinian youth at the forefront, Hamas's political strength strengthens, Islamic Jihad and the secular Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (FPLP). Likewise“new militant groups have emerged, like Lion's Den, the Balata or Cueva Negra Battalion. Palestinian youth today does not have a hegemonic political leadership, completely disbelieves in 'both states' and its legitimate yearning is liberation from Israeli occupation."[2].
no to the trap: Semitism = Judaism = Zionism
Worldwide, via the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA, according to its acronym in English), Zionism promotes a dangerous definition in order to criminalize all critical expression towards the State of Israel and its anti-Palestinian policy. The trap consists in equating three concepts of a very different nature: track (ethnic), Jew (religious) YZionist (politics).
Based on this fallacy, it is intended to silence any political questioning of any actionZionist of the State of Israel or its institutions under the accusation ofantisemitic and thus persecute him and even punish him before criminal justice. This is the case of Alejandro Bodart, leader of the Argentine MST and the International Socialist League (LIS).
In that sense, as well pointed out 60 religious and human rights organizations from various countries that two weeks ago formally asked the UN to reject the IHRA definition, “A person dedicated to defending the rights of Tibetans could be accused of anti-Chinese racism, or a group dedicated to promoting democracy and minority rights in Saudi Arabia could be accused of Islamophobia."[3].
No, Sirs. Not all Semites are Jews, since Semites are also all the Arab peoples and therefore the Palestinians, nor are all jews zionists. The attempt to equalizeanti-zionism Yantisemitism It is a hypocrisy of Zionism, a counter-revolutionary political ideology that encourages Jewish supremacy and anti-Palestinian racism. The State of Israel, since it was created in 1948 stealing their ancestral lands from the Palestinians with blood and fire, continues to commit genocide against that long-suffering people.
what is the output?
As well expressed by the resolution on Palestine and the State of Israel approved at the 2nd world congress of the LIS, made in March in Barcelona: “The only strategic way out to achieve genuine and definitive peace in this entire troubled region is to dissolve the genocidal and racist State of Israel., establishing in its replacement a secular and democratic Palestine in all the historical territory, from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea and with capital in Jerusalem, to which the more than five million Palestinian refugees can return, especially in Jordan, Syria and Lebanon, and live in peace with the Jewish population and those of other religions. This will only be possible if the socialist revolution advances throughout the region.. We understand that future socialist Palestine as an integral part of a federation of socialist republics of the Middle East.
"The way to achieve that exit is the joint struggle of the heroic Palestinian resistance and the Arab peoples of the region., above their complicit Israeli governments, plus the support of the anti-Zionist democratic Jews who are among those who are today mobilizing in Israel against the Netanyahu government and the ultra-right, and in that process build a strong revolutionary party.".
