France: "Not pass"
ByGerard Florenson
After the first round, it is unlikely that the National Rally and its allies, although clearly in the lead with more than a third of the votes, can obtain an absolute majority of deputies and govern France. Unlikely but not totally excluded due to the electoral system and the porosity between a part of the classic right electorate and its own and therefore it remains necessary to block its path on Sunday with the only means at our disposal, the vote for the Popular Front candidates. Vote more than critically, without the slightest illusion about its program written in three days or towards its leaders who are experts in withdrawals and denialists, without searching among them for any more or less leftist current, but vote anyway: “They Will Not Pass”.
Nevertheless, the negotiations of the last two days, the game of more or less forced withdrawals with the declared objective of gathering a "republican camp" against the extreme right, have found their most fervent supporters on the side of the Popular Front, among them Melenchón. And even beyond Sunday's vote, some consider a republican unity government, that is to say, con Macron.
It is a cold shower for those who mobilized against racist policies, repressive, anti-ecological and social regression of a government whose ministers should now be saved. Nor Bardella, nor Macron who opened a boulevard for him. Not a voice from the right!
Starting Monday, whatever the result, we will have to prepare mobilizations to break with reactionary policies and achieve social progress.
The revolutionaries must be there, regroup without sectarianism or workshop spirit to constitute a pole of attraction for the working and young vanguard that has already demonstrated its combativeness.
