We demand the #AbsolutionOfJeanMendoza
Gathered in Buenos Aires in person and also with virtual participation, in this first day of analysis of the international situation and political exchange between organizations from different countries and continents that make up the International Socialist League (LIS), plus the presence of representatives of the OTI, at L5I, Socialist Alternative of Australia and the MAS of Portugal, From here we want to send our total support and solidarity to our colleague Jean Mendoza., Venezuelan union leader, general secretary of SITRAEMAS and member of Marea Socialista. Who is being unfairly put on trial by the capitalist transnational MASISA?.
Knowing that today a tweet is being carried out demanding his acquittal and that tomorrow, Wednesday, the trial hearing will take place in Puerto Ordaz where it is intended to advance a conviction against Jean Mendoza, We want to express our total repudiation of this outrage by the employers.. That under the false accusation of instigating hatred using a reactionary law of the Venezuelan government and regime, the only thing it seeks is to weaken the struggle and workers' demands, through attempting to prohibit its legitimate union leader from expressing his opinions and developing activities to demand salary and labor rights for all the workers he represents..
For all this, we once again become part of this campaign for the #AbsolutionDeJeanMendoza and we demand his definitive acquittal from the Venezuelan justice system., their full freedom and that they cease to backtrack on their democratic rights. And we demand that the government of Venezuela and all authorities guarantee the democratic and constitutional right of Jean Mendoza to express himself., demand their rights and freely carry out their union activity, for which he was democratically elected by his co-workers.
At the same time, and awaiting the results of the hearing, We invite the entire international labor movement, to the organizations of the anti-capitalist and socialist left and to all popular organizations, social and democratic, to actively express their solidarity in this fight and to be part of this campaign until the final acquittal of Jean Mendoza is achieved.
