U.S: First impacts of Trump's second mandate

A global process
The rise of the extreme right is a worldwide phenomenon. Various expressions of this sector govern in seven European Union countries (Italy, Netherlands, Hungary, Smell, Croatia, Slovakia and Finland), They are close to forming a government in Austria and are on the rise in France, Germany and the United Kingdom.

Modi's fundamentalist regime in India and the authoritarian of Putin in Russia, They share central characteristics with the extreme western right. Even beyond these political expressions, a general tendency towards more authoritarian and repressive regimes predominates in the world throughout the capitalist political arch.
The extreme global right is not homogeneous, There are more radical or closer sectors to the classic right, More nationalists or neoliberals. But beyond the variety, They constitute the spearhead of a determined global turn to the right of the bourgeoisie, that has strengthened a reactionary sector of society.
A product of the systemic crisis
The systemic crisis that capitalism crosses from 2008 It is only comparable to those preceded by the two world wars of the last century. At the same time, The phenomenon of the extreme right is part of a global polarization process, that also causes mass mobilizations, rebellions and revolutions, including important strikes that have revived some of the most powerful workers' sectors. This triumph of Trump is part of the global promotion phenomenon of the extreme right, feeds on it and, at the same time, strengthens all its expressions. Trump was one of the first expressions of the extreme right, When he assumed his first mandate in 2016. He faced great mobilizations against him and the opposition or lack of collaboration of much of the establishment. He failed to implement many of his initiatives and lost re -election in 2020. Este accionar busca “inundar la cancha” con tantos ataques escandalosamente reaccionarios, pero inviables, para que resulte imposible responder a todos, y que los que sí pretenden concretar, parezcan menos terribles o pasen desapercibidos. Pero también es parte de una batalla cultural por el “sentido común”. Busca ampliar radicalmente las actitudes y acciones racistas, machistas, xenophobic, homófobas y generalmente reaccionarias que se consideran aceptables, y los derechos que se consideran “privilegios” o directamente delitos.
No es menor esta batalla, cuyo objetivo es fortalecer y motivar la acción de los sectores más extremos, violentos y directamente fascistas que constituyen el núcleo duro de la base social de la extrema derecha; y debilitar y desmoralizar a los trabajadores y oprimidos en general y a los activistas dispuestos a enfrentar esos ataques.
La Doctrina Trump
Una de las facetas centrales de la crisis sistémica del capitalismo en curso es la crisis de hegemonía imperialista. U.S, siendo aún la principal potencia mundial, está en un claro declive, mientras se fortalecen potencias regionales y surge China como competidor global.

Esto agrava la crisis económica de todos los socios comerciales de Estados Unidos, incluyendo históricos aliados como Europa y Taiwán, y los países donde gobiernan otros mandatarios ultraderechistas como Argentina. Aunque todavía no pretenden salir de los márgenes generales de las instituciones democrático-burguesas y eliminar por completo a las organizaciones sindicales y políticas no burguesas, el salto autoritario y represivo que buscan imponer es profundo. Implica drásticos recortes de los derechos democráticos y una profundización de la persecución estatal, y de la violencia paraestatal contra los oprimidos y el activismo sindical y de izquierda.
Los demócratas, que amenazaban en las elecciones con que si ganaba Trump se vendría el fascismo, ahora minimizan los riesgos que hasta hace poco exageraban. Cuando se acerquen las próximas elecciones, se acordarán de lo peligroso que es Trump para presentarse como única alternativa. Pero es inmediata la necesidad de enfrentar a Trump y luchar por frenar sus planes.
Lejos de esto, los demócratas se esforzaron por garantizar una transición tranquila y ahora buscan maneras de colaborar con el nuevo gobierno. Quieren evitar que surjan movimientos de movilización que luego requieren tiempo y recursos para desmovilizar y canalizarlos hacia el lobbying y las elecciones.
Los revolucionarios tenemos que actuar de manera diametralmente opuesta. No podemos minimizar el peligro que significan los ataques del nuevo gobierno ni tampoco sobredimensionarlos. Más allá de la caracterización que hagamos, debemos estar en la primera línea de denunciar las medidas de este gobierno, transmitir la urgencia de organizarse para enfrentarlas y llamar a la unidad más amplia para dar esa pelea, con la mayor fuerza posible.

Debemos continuar las luchas económicas y sociales que venimos dando por salarios y el derecho a la organización sindical; contra el racismo institucional y la violencia policial; en defensa de los inmigrantes, el derecho a decidir, a la identidad y todos los derechos de género, among other. Estas se van a intensificar. Así como luchamos por establecer que las vidas negras importan, tendremos que luchar por defender las vidas de las personas trans, migrantes y mujeres.
Pero las luchas democráticas en particular, van a cobrar un protagonismo nuevo. Tenemos que tomar con fuerza las tareas de organizar la autodefensa ante los sectores fascistas que actuarán con mayor confianza, de enfrentar la persecución y represión, de defender política y físicamente el derecho a manifestarse y de todos los derechos democráticos, de una forma que no ha estado planteada en mucho tiempo.
La voluntad de luchar
La desmoralización acumulada durante el mandato de Biden, la desactivación de los movimientos de los últimos años por parte de los demócratas y su definición de no organizar protestas nacionales para la asunción de Trump, explican en gran medida por qué esta vez, no hubo manifestaciones multitudinarias como en 2016.
Nevertheless, existe una vanguardia que ve la necesidad y la urgencia de organizar la resistencia. Son miles de jóvenes radicalizados por el movimiento de solidaridad con Palestina, trabajadores activados en las huelgas de Amazon o de la UAW, activistas mujeres, LGBT+, immigrants, negros que han visto sus movimientos desactivados por los demócratas y comprenden la necesidad inmediata de organizar una lucha seria, contra un peligro muy real.
La ofensiva de Trump, inevitablemente va a provocar resistencia en el país y en todo el mundo. La fuerza y las posibilidades que tendrá, dependen en gran medida del nivel de organización y de la orientación política que tenga esa vanguardia radicalizada. Esto plantea a los revolucionarios una tarea para hoy, un desafío de esos en los que no da igual lo que hagamos o no hagamos, lo que logremos o no logremos.
Hoy es posible y necesario organizar a miles de activistas y trabajadores políticamente radicalizados y dispuestos a luchar en un proyecto revolucionario, para incidir en el curso de las luchas que vienen, y para sentar las bases de un partido revolucionario que represente a la clase trabajadora y luche por el socialismo en Estados Unidos y el mundo. Y se puede hacer a partir de un trabajo de reagrupamiento de los revolucionarios en el país e internacionalmente, como impulsa la Liga Internacional Socialista.
