France: III Meeting of Internationalist Forces
The Meeting, which brought together around thirty organizations from different countries, was held in Paris 16 al 18 of May. The International Socialist League (LIS) and the space related to the international regrouping of the revolutionaries that we promoted actively participated, contributing their opinions and proposals.

From Milan to Paris
The call to the Paris Meeting was aimed at“… deepen the debate without hiding disagreements or different assessments of reality, and making a wide range of positions available to all colleagues.". In this regard, the Promoting Committee published, as he has been doing before each meeting, heInternationalist Correspondence Bulletin with all the written contributions that were sent.
Later, at the Paris headquarters of the NPA-R, oral exchange of opinions was developed, whose agenda focused on the international situation -first and second day-, and the militant experiences in the working class -third day-. The interventions and replies revealed political agreements and differences on the central issues mentioned below.
The debate allowed us to confirm the existence of 3 blocks of more or less coincident opinions. a) The most homogeneous was the one formed by the members of the LIS together with our colleagues from the OTI., at L5I, the MAS of Portugal and the Socialist Alternative of Australia. b) which defended positions similar to Lutta Communist of Italy and c) another more heterogeneous one with the NPA (R) for reference.
The transformations promoted by Trump
On the basis of recognizing that Trump intends to impose changes in the world order, nuances were expressed about the motivations that drive it, the scope and consequences in the US. and in the world.
We propose that after the fall of the USSR and the Berlin Wall, American imperialism believed that capitalist restoration would allow it to consolidate and extend its rule, but reality did not develop as I thought. Without his counterrevolutionary partner, the Stalinist apparatus, had to absorb only the attacks of the class struggle. Could not semi-colonize China or Russia, that were transformed into imperialist powers and began to compete for world hegemony. Although the US. maintained its primacy, was weakening and this took a leap with the crisis that began in 2008, as China became a global power, giving way to a new cold war.
All the measures that Trump has been promoting in his second term are aimed at trying to recover the role that the United States has been losing. Whether he will achieve it or not will be defined by the class struggle in the United States itself.. and worldwide. For now, More than a new order, we are witnessing a great global disorder, to the intensification of inter-imperialist tensions and an increasingly uncertain future, where only the socialist revolution can prevent capitalist barbarism from continuing to advance.
Oppressed nationalities and self-determination: Ukraine and Palestine
The divergences of the previous Meeting regarding the demands of oppressed nationalities and self-determination were repeated., mainly with Lotta Comunista, who considers them “issues of the past”, but also with other organizations that have ambiguous and wrong positions in the two most important processes taking place in Eastern Europe and the Middle East.
The war in Ukraine has a dual character, the right to Ukrainian self-determination and inter-imperialist disputes intervene. Because, from the LIS and the Ukrainian Socialist League (LSU) we support the resistance of the Ukrainian people against the invasion of Russian imperialism and at the same time we denounce NATO and Western imperialism with a policy independent of Zelensky. We currently reject negotiations between Trump and Putin behind the backs of the Ukrainian people, because they will bring the looting of strategic resources, territorial loss and submission of the country.
Regarding Gaza, we promote the broadest unity against genocide, ethnic cleansing and territorial occupation of Zionism against the Palestinian people, independently of the politics of Hamas from which great differences separate it. We reject the deception of the utopian policy of two states and propose that the only way out is to defeat the State of Israel and achieve a single Palestine, secular, not racist, democratic and socialist, which can only be achieved by promoting the Socialist Revolution throughout the Middle East.
New imperialisms: China and Russia
Regarding China and Russia, there are still organizations that believe that these countries areworkers states those who must be defended. A true madness that induces campism and flagging behind the new imperialisms that have emerged. Others, although they recognize the evident capitalist restoration, They refuse to define them as imperialists and in this way they also end up capitulating in their confrontation with the United States.. At the LIS we have no doubt that China has become the main imperialist power that disputes the hegemony of old imperialism., while Russia has also transformed in the same sense and wants to recover its old zone of influence, which is why it has invaded Ukraine.
About concrete experiences

Weaknesses, limitations and positive aspectsos
At the two previous Meetings in Milan (2023-2024) Political differences were expressed so great that it was clear that no common declarations or campaigns could emerge from there.. But they generated the possibility of meeting and interacting between organizations that did have important coincidences.. This is what happened between the International Socialist League (LIS), the International Trotskyist Opposition (DONE) and the League for 5 International (L5I) initiating an approach that is in the process of allowing us to unify in the same organization.
The Meeting in France once again showed the enormous differences that exist, but at the same time also the great advances in the regrouping process that exist around the LIS.
The LIS, a dynamic project that is getting stronger
The forces that already make up the LIS and those that are related were a prominent actor in the event. Among those present, Colleagues from fifteen countries participated in the written contributions and videos sent.. It was carried out a week before the entry of OTI organizations into the LIS was confirmed.. He confirmed the progress of relations with the L5I and the MAS (Portugal) and the existing political harmony with Socialist Alternative (Australia) and other organizations that follow with interest the potential development of the LIS.
