Enough of repression and persecution, Freedom to political prisoners

The government continues to respond brutally. During the day there were no less than 125 arrests. The images that travel the world showing vehicles that cross the path of buses and kidnap people by force cause enormous outrage, or the uniformed beating peaceful people whose "serious crime" is exercising the right to protest. As part of the anti-worker escalation, in response to strikes and actions of the working class, the regime has been especially merciless against labor leaders and activists, who are threatened with layoffs, sanctions and criminal cases.

Among the prisoners this week was Liza Merlyak, Secretary for international relations of the Belarusian Independent Trade Union, who was taken from her house located in Grodno, they withheld her phone and accused her of participating in "unauthorized mass protests". Then they had to release her, when local and international claims multiplied. Saturday, the authorities of the regime withdrew the credentials of 17 BBC international media journalists, Reuters, AP and AFP, arbitrariness that they also execute against local journalists, in a clear attempt to prevent the protests from spreading, the repression and violations of human rights ordered by Lukashenko and endorsed by Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation.

Lukashenko and the authoritarian regime continue to repress, trying to show strength. Nevertheless, what is evident is that the people are not willing to give up and, against all odds, maintains the mobilizations, strikes and mass protest actions. the general strike, with mobilization is the tool that most fears power. We call all the peoples of the world, especially the Europeans, to those who fight against oppression and exploitation, those who reject repression, the violation of human rights and the reduction of democratic freedoms; to support the Belarusian people, especially the working class, particularly attacked. From the International Socialist League we have been promoting thesolidarity support from the very beginning of the protests, We call to multiply it while rejecting all imperialist interference in the region.
