19D: Participate in the events of the CUP

Saturday 19 December rallies will be held in different cities of Catalonia: Barcelona, Berga, Castellón, Girona, Granollers, Igualada, Lleida, Manresa, Moiá, Reus, Sabadell, Sant Feliu de Llobregat, Sant Sadurní, santa Coloma, Tarragona and Vila Franca del Penedès. They were summoned by the CUP and groups of pro-independence left with the slogan "May the crysis be paid by the rich ones, not the workers ", that expresses one of the central tasks of the moment.

He Manifest indicates the scope of the economic and social crisis, accelerated by the Covid-19 pandemic and its effects on the most vulnerable. With its sequel to ERTE, unemployment, precariousness, macho and patriarchal violence, LGTBIfobia,  evictions and xenophobia. With violence institutional, with insufficient government action, no services adequate public or decent living conditions. Y, as a counterpart, the continuity of privatizations, privileges for sectors financial that, with the Toledo Pact, they intend to appropriate a part of social contributions and impose private pensions and enrichment of IBEX35 companies. The call to recover the streets and promote break with the current system, it is an urgent task. So is not depositing trust in the EU, whose recovery funds will go mainly to, to the coffers of the most powerful.

We share with the CUP the proposal to create a new and powerful attack on the oppressors, for which it is necessary to promote the broadest unit of action, to give turned everything in a sense favorable to the workers and the people. Are reasons more than enough to participate and promote the acts of 19-D and support the Manifesto. It is in this frame, that we insist with some questions that we have already pointed out so much in our publications and in different instances debate opened by the CUP.

Reality that hits the peoples of the Spanish State is molded from the European Union, under whose command are the PSOE-UP government and the institutions of the regime from '78. But they are not the only ones responsible since in Catalonia they are too the majority parties that lead the Government and the Parliament, ERC and JxCAT. Beyond their differences with Madrid, agree to apply insufficient sanitary measures, socially unjust and politically authoritarian, while favoring big business interests capitalists.

None they reversed budget cuts in health, the conditions of precariousness of workers, nor social inequality; while yes I know dedicated to saving the bosses and their businesses. Is a "heritage" common of both managements. Beyond sustained critical phraseology and independence from ERC and JxCAT, a construction to support the bourgeois government of the Spanish oppressor, that continues to bring them closer to the claim for a hidden autonomy that the Catalan Republic popularly longed for.

Necessary set up a political alternative that promotes mobilization, support the struggles and takes root deeply in the working class, not only during electoral contests, and to systematically propose an alternative of class independence, that is demarcated from the"Strategic unit" with the bourgeoisie and the reformists who act as a transmission belt for their interests.  The path to independence is intimately linked to the anti-capitalist struggle, against exploitation, the precariousness, the settings, poverty and social inequalities. Precisely, all the questions that the bourgeoisie raise, sustain and reproduce.

The Republic Catalan will be possible in a process led by the working class, with students, with feminist groups, immigrants and other sectors popular, mobilized, going on strike and building their own organisms of power. Democratic proposals for self-determination should not oppose the anti-capitalists, but to be part of the same program transitional that responds both to aspirations for freedom and to social rights. The CUP has the strength and roots to stand up the construction of a radical left front, something that, to materialize, it would be a great political step forward.
