Colombia: We repudiate the repressive measures against the National People's Assembly

Today 16 of July, delegations from popular assemblies throughout the country together with union sectors, student, indigenous and peasants, They are preparing to travel to the National Popular Assembly that will be held in Cali, from the 17 al 20 of July.

Against this, The mayor of Cali and the government of Valle del Cauca imposed restrictive measures to close the region's borders under the excuse of COVID, which guarantees that Duque's genocidal and paramilitary Uribista government acts by persecuting travelers, from stopping the buses of the delegations in the hands of the National Police, who also request suitcases and personal property, violating human rights..

At this time 8 colleagues from Impulso Socialista in the International Socialist League are being held near the Municipality of Caldas Antioquía by the repressive forces along with other activists. Although they can get out of this checkpoint, We warn that buses may continue to stop at more checkpoints.

This is happening throughout the country to prevent the National Popular Assembly from taking place and the mobilization of the 20 of July.

We repudiate the repressive measures of the Local Governments and the National Government and we call for international solidarity to denounce what is happening so that our colleagues, together with the movement in general, manage to form the National Popular Assembly.

Long live the Struggle of the Colombian people!!
Get out Duke!
