Spanish state: Let's support the claims in health and education
Given the deterioration of the public, the protests of the workers and users spread. It is necessary to unite the claims and demand the call for a general strike.
Budget cuts in health come from the year 2012, with the “snips” of Mariano Rajoy (PP) when he was president. Since then, Neither the PP nor the PSOE reversed the situation at the national or regional level and health presents an evident deterioration deepened by the economic crisis.
Workers and patients are the victims
Divestment and cuts cause serious consequences, and express the deterioration in health in a double sense: poor working conditions and poor patient care. Workers at all levels of healthcare are underpaid, precarious contracts, strenuous days and insufficient materials. Patients suffer from the closure of care centers, emergencies without doctors on site, online care, the lack of professionals, of material resources and endless waiting to achieve a specialty turn or a surgical intervention.
From Madrid to Andalusia and other Communities
Before, during and after the pandemic the claims were repeated. The maximum expression of the defense of public health by workers and the population occurred during the month of November. In the Plaza de la Cibeles300.000 people demonstrated against the plans of Isabel Díaz Ayuso (PP).
The president of the Community of Madrid was forced to cede, whereby, he 22 from December, the strike was temporarily suspended. But since the responses of the Ministry of Health were unsatisfactory, Thursday 12 January the strike called byAmitas (Association of Physicians and Higher Graduates of Madrid). On Sunday 15 there was a demonstration of 30.000 people summoned by Marea Blanca. Something similar happens in Andalusia, where the lack of response from the Ministry of Health and the SAS (Andalusian Health Service) motivated the call to strike for Friday 20 from January, with the impulse of the SMP (Union of Primary Care Physicians and Physicians). There are at least eight other communities that are going down the path of a Primary Care strike because the collapse in hospital ERs is spreading across the country.
Health and education will be mobilized in Catalonia
Both sectors resume the protests, raising"Without health we are dead and without education there is no future". On Wednesday 25 January there will be a march from Plaza Sant Jaume to the Parliament, Thursday 26 decentralized mobilizations will be held throughout the territory and on Saturday 28 a concentration in Plaza Sant Jaume. If the workers of health and education win, we all win, that's why we have to offer them solidarity.
Authorities can't wash their hands
The autonomous governments and the government of the "progressive coalition" PSOE-UP, led by Pedro Sánchez cannot wash their hands, the problems are national. The cuts persist in theState's general budgets and in those that correspond to the autonomies. The landscape is critical, that is why a unified fight for health is needed, education and other sectors, with coordinated mobilizations and strikes, with the support of the population and the planning of actions in joint assemblies.
the general strike, when?
Union bureaucrats are not up to the task. We must demand that the majority leaderships of the UGT and CC. AND. that they call a general strike in support of health in struggle and with an agenda that includes the most immediate demands of all the working people. It is an urgent need to stop the deterioration of living conditions and for the crisis to be paid for by the capitalists. It is the vindictive path that the workers follow inFrance, heUnited Kingdom and other countries, like inPeru in defense of their democratic rights, against the murderous repression. It is also necessary to put up a new political alternative, an extreme left front to turn everything around.
