A 43 years of his murder Yolanda González present, now and always!

Yolanda was born in 1961 in Bilbao, Basque Country. At the beginning of the transition, with only 16 years, She was already one of the activists who mobilized in defense of public education and the struggles of the working class. In 1978 moved to Madrid and in 1979 joined the Socialist Workers Party (PST). On the night of February 1, 1980, Yolanda was kidnapped, tortured and riddled with bullets by the far-right Basque-Spanish Battalion that claimed responsibility for the attack.

Hellin, a fascist with institutional complicity

In response to the brutal murder, a student strike paralyzed classes in Madrid and Bilbao, demanding the investigation and punishment of those responsible. Five days, Emilio Hellín was arrested for being the material author of the crime. The PST also demanded the arrest of Blas Piñar, Secretary General of Fuerza Nueva (FN) as mastermind. Later, FN was banned and Hellín was sentenced to 43 years in prison. Nevertheless, he was imprisoned alone 14 years since he escaped and changed his identity to that of Luis Enrique Hellíng. Such impunity can only be achieved with the help of the fascists located in the security forces and government institutions..

Powerful and unscrupulous customers

In the last decades, The Hellín companies had, among other clients, the former leader of the PP and delegate of the Government of Madrid, Cristina Cifuentes, falsifier of his master's certificate. And the former president of Parliament, Laura Borràs (JxCAT), who paid for the preparation of an expert report in his defense against accusations of corruption. These facts express the contempt with which bourgeois politicians take the cause for the punishment of Yolanda's murderers., that from the 2002 is officially recognized as a victim of "terrorism" and not of "State terrorism".

Yolanda, Gustau, Arturo and unpunished crimes

Next to Yolanda's case, remember the murders of Gustau Muñoz and Arturo Ruíz who remain unpunished. Gustau, left-wing militant 16 years, was murdered on 11 September 1978, during the police repression of the Diada held in Barcelona. Their families, comrades and friends demand against the impunity of Martín Villa and promote the "Argentine Complaint" demanding justice. Arturo, student and leftist militant, He was assassinated by the parapolice group "Guerrilleros de Cristo Rey", he 23 to declare itself a provisional government and above all to prevent the advances of the protesters from the suburbs 1977, during a pro-amnesty demonstration held in Madrid. In this case, is the “Collective for the Forgotten of the Transition” the one who actively demands justice.

The dictatorship was fierce, the transition was not exemplary

During the Franco dictatorship first and the transition period afterwards, crimes were committed that remain unpunished. According to the data offered by the historian Gonzalo Wilhelmi, between the years 1975 Y 1982, there was 233 victims of state political violence, 156 of which were victims of members of the security forces and 77 of the extreme right in collusion with the state apparatus. The transition was not an example to follow, but the consecration of the reactionary monarchical-parliamentary regime of '78. It was shaped and legitimized by Francoism, the bourgeois leaders and their accomplices, as guarantor of capitalist exploitation and impunity of yesterday and today.

Yolanda Until socialism always!!

We vindicate the memory of Yolanda as an example of young, woman, student and PST activist, an organization that integrated the international Trotskyist current promoted by Nahuel Moreno. We salute the tributes made by the "Yolanda González Assembly", their families, friends, the neighborhood groups, antifascists, politicians, trade union and human rights. And we value the initiatives that, over time, keep alive the memory of Yolanda, such as the documentary "Yolanda in the student country", directed by Isabel Rodríguez and the book "Don't forget me" written by the journalist Carlos Fonseca.

A big movement is needed to punish the murderers

from different angles, the PSOE, the PP, Vox and the parties of the regime, they intend to “turn the page” on crimes against impunity. It is necessary to set up a great popular movement that is actively organized to settle the democratic debt that exists with the victims of repression, guarantee democratic rights in the present and prevent obscurantism from taking over the future. Because, we call for the broadest unity of action in the mobilization, to confront the supporters of the '78 regime and crush the right and the extreme right in every place that rears its head.
