The confluence of the OTI in the lis

The unity of revolutionary Marxists in the world advances
The OTI Congress (International Trotskyist Opposition), held in Rimini on the days 23, 24 Y 25 of May, decided by a very large majority to dissolve it to join the International Socialist League (LIS). It is a step forward in the unity of consistent Trotskyists in the world.
The decision made by the OTI is consistent with its basic approach. The OTI has been a small international organization (present in Italy, U.S, Denmark, Britain, France, Hungary), of which the PCL has represented the main section. It has always fought for international revolutionary regrouping on a common basis of general program and principles among all organizations and tendencies that share said program., regardless of origin, under Leninist democratic centralism. An approach opposed to the absurd logic of fragmentation between many small self-centered internationals that has unfortunately characterized much of the Trotskyist movement., even in its revolutionary sector.
The approach with the LIS occurred in this area. The LIS is a revolutionary Marxist international organization present in 40 countries from all continents. Born in 2019 of international regrouping, on a common programmatic basis, of organizations with different histories and origins: starting with the strong Socialist Workers Movement (MST) Argentinean, coming from the "morenista" tradition, y Struggle, a consistent Pakistani organization of the “Grant/Woods” tradition. Its rapid development has also included the incorporation of organizations that broke with Stalinism, as in the case of the Kenyan and Lebanese sections of the LIS, both arising from a youth split in the "communist" parties of their respective countries.
Two years of intense political debate with the LIS allowed us to verify not only the common programmatic basis and construction method, but also a shared analysis of the world in all its decisive aspects: starting with the understanding of the conflict between old and new imperialist powers as a key to reading the international scenario. The common statement on the complex Ukrainian crisis, against the invasion of Russian imperialism and against the imperialist partition of the country; the common statement on the Palestinian question, for the revolutionary destruction of the Zionist State; the common position on the Indo-Pakistani war, in favor of a bilateral defeatist approach; the common struggle against imperialist rearmament and any war economy, They demonstrated not only the same fundamental position on the main world events, but also the ability to correctly apply the Leninist approach in all its dimensions. Against any camper or semi-camper posture. Against all subordination to “imperialist” pacifism. Against all anti-Leninist denial of the national rights of oppressed peoples.
The same occurs with the general common line of intervention in the class struggle., in union organizations, in the feminist and trans feminist movements, in the environmental movement: to link the immediate demands of each class or progressive movement to the revolutionary perspective of the workers' government, against all subordination to reformist approaches, petty bourgeois or classless. Hence the centrality of the transitory demands and the transitory method. It is not by chance that the OTI congress registered total convergence with the LIS regarding the line of intervention on the gender issue., based on the rich discussion on the important document prepared by our colleagues, unanimously approved by Congress.
The confluence of the OTI in the LIS is all the more important because it is not an isolated event. The League for the Fifth International, coming from the tradition of the British Workers Party and today present in several countries (Germany, Britain, Swiss, Pakistan, etc.), It has also been involved in the perspective of its confluence with the LIS, sharing with the LIS and the OTI the aforementioned pronouncements and the political debate that has accompanied them. Hence the “optimistic” forecast formulated by the League delegation present at our congress regarding the possibility of soon joining the LIS..
And not only that. The already realized confluence of the OTI in the LIS and the highly probable one of the League, going against the current of sectarian fragmentation dynamics, They can in turn multiply the LIS's capacity to attract other important revolutionary organizations from different countries and continents.. Organizations that, in many cases, They have already expressed their interest and positive assessment of the ongoing regrouping process.. The objective of the LIS is not to preserve its existence, but to work for the construction of a new revolutionary International, as an alternative direction of the world-class avant-garde. “Collecting the best of the different traditions of Trotskyism to build together a new tradition” is the declared objective of the LIS., and at the same time a necessary step towards the new international.
The confluence of the OTI in the LIS is, Finally, a fact of extreme importance for the Communist Workers Party. An additional reason to motivate our militant organization and relaunch its capacity for aggregation and growth. Thus, Today more than ever we call on all the colleagues who share our project to strengthen the PCL, as new Italian section of the International Socialist League. The moment is now. We invite our adherents to become militants, and thus participate with full rights in the LIS world congress to be held at the end of 2025. We also invite many of our interlocutors and supporters to clear all doubts and join the PCL in the way that each one freely chooses..
