Alive we love each other, not one less!

The second heat wave in Spain comes with chilling figures for women. in solo 24 hours three women have been victims of femicide.

A summer that raises our temperature and makes our blood boil. In the eight months that the 2023, 64 women have been victims of femicide in the Spanish State, reaching, on Tuesday 8 of August, the disastrous number of three women murdered in just one 24 hours. These frivolous numbers, They tell us that there is a victim of femicide every 3 days.

Before starting the summer break, The “progressive” PSOE-Unidad Podemos government met for the second time this year the crisis committee against sexist violence. It is a tool that is activated when there are five or more murders of women by their partners or ex-partners.. To collect the errors that have been detected and propose improvements, representatives of the communities in which the femicides have occurred meet there, as well as the Prosecutor's Office, the Ministry of the Interior and Justice and the specialized units of each territory.

More of 1.200 women murdered in recent 10 years, They make us think that failures are not occasional and that there is no committee that can resolve them.. So many victims of femicides indicate that “progressive” policies are formal and that they are not enough as prevention measures. A committee that meets and analyzes when another woman was already a victim of femicide, does not constitute an effective instance, when it's late.

What is needed are real and effective awareness solutions, prevention containment, support and help for victims of gender violence and their families. Complaint mechanisms need to have trained personnel, in sufficient quantity and budget to intervene. And that women are not re-victimized by each State agency when they should help them.. There is a lack of a comprehensive sexual education law from early childhood, that is not conditioned by any parental pin. A network of shelters must be made available to victims, labor reintegration plans and deploy more Family and Women Care Units (I TRUST) in every city.

Historically, women have won each of our rights in the streets.. And that's where, once again, We will have to go out and demand that they stop killing us. In the face of each femicide, the greatest unitary mobilization of repudiation is necessary, because only in this way will we ensure that each government in power listens to us.

In this capitalist system in decline, where our lives don't seem to matter, We must organize ourselves to shout loudly that we love each other alive and that our lives matter.. These are not isolated cases, It is the direct consequence of this sexist and patriarchal system. Capitalism and patriarchy fall together.
